Exploring the New Zealand natural environment

This course focuses on New Zealand’s range of natural environments and the processes controlling the diverse range of landscapes we see today. We also examine the impact of the natural environment in shaping New Zealand with emphasis on: (1)  Society and urbanisation (2) Mechanisation and industrialisation (3) New Zealand’s energy resources which are a result of the natural environment.

Students will have the opportunity to be a scientist and use scientific equipment to collect real-time data. They will learn about making observations, problem solving, critical thinking, knowledge sharing  and testing your hypothesis.

Students will explore the North Island of New Zealand from the West coast to the East coast and from Auckland to Napier.
